how do you complete the square on a negative quadratic equation?

I'm just thinking if anyone can give me a few pointers here so that I can understand the concepts behind how do you complete the square on a negative quadratic equation?. I find solving equations really tough. I work in the evening and thus have no time left to take extra classes. Can you guys suggest any online resource that can assist me with this subject?

You really shouldn’t have wasted money on a math tutor. Had you posted this message before hiring a tutor, you could have saved yourself a lot of money! Anyway, now you can’t change it. Now to make sure that you do well in your exams I would suggest using Algebra Buster. It’s a user-friendly software. It can solve the toughest problems for you, and what’s even cooler is the fact that it can even explain how to go about solving it! At one point in time when even I was having difficulty understanding trigonometry, perpendicular lines and point-slope. But thanks to Algebra Buster, it’s all good now.

I must agree that Algebra Buster is a cool thing and the best software of this kind you can find. I was so surprised when after weeks of frustration I simply typed in perfect square trinomial and that was the end of my problems with algebra. It's also great that you can use the program for any level: I have been using it for several years now, I used it in Intermediate algebra and in College Algebra too! I remember having often faced problems with x-intercept, exponent rules and graphing equations. A really great piece of algebra program is Algebra Buster software. By simply typing in a problem from workbook a step by step solution would appear by a click on Solve. I have used it through many algebra classes – Basic Math, Algebra 1 and Pre Algebra. I greatly recommend the program.
