Dividing Mixed Numbers

Dividing mixed numbers is similar to dividing fractions, except that there is an additional step.

To Divide Mixed Numbers

• change the mixed numbers to their equivalent improper fractions,
• follow the steps for dividing fractions, and
• simplify the answer.
