REVIEW FOR FINAL EXAMINATION
The Final Examination for this course consists of approximately fifty
computational problems. The
problems are similar to those that you have worked to complete each chapter. One
way to review all of
the material from this course is to work the Summary and Review Exercises
located at the end of each
chapter. These highlights review the major definitions and concepts of the
chapter, and an example of
each concept is presented. If you have any difficulties you should review that
section of the chapter more
thoroughly. If you have any questions please get them answered before the
scheduled final exam date.
We will have review session(s) prior to the exam where more detailed information
will be available.
The following is a partial list of the tasks that may be included on the
Final Examination.
1. Combine like terms in a given expression
2. Solve equations, linear inequalities, literal equations and absolute value
equation and inequalities
3. Evaluate expressions containing positive and/or negative exponents
4. Add and subtract monomials, binomials and trinomials
5. Multiply monomials, binomials and trinomials
6. Divide monomials and divide by binomials
7. Given sufficient information write the equation of a straight line
8. Given two points, find the slope of the line containing them
9. Solve systems of equations by various methods
10. Graph equations and inequalities
11. Solve systems of equations by graphing, substitution and / or addition.
12. Solve all types of application problems.
