Course Objectives . . .
After completing Math 110 successful students should be able to:
1. Calculate the slope of a line.
2. Write the equations of lines using the point- slope and slope -intercept
form.
3A. Algebraically solve linear, quadratic and rational equations, linear
inequalities, and 2 x 2 systems of linear equations.
3B. Check solutions to equations using a graphing utility.
4. Graph linear and quadratic equations by hand and find significant
features of the graphs such as the intercepts , vertex, or slope.
*5. Solve applications that require linear, or quadratic equations, linear
inequalities, or systems of linear equations.
6. Perform operations with rational expressions.
7. Simplify expressions with integer and rational exponents .
8. Perform operations with radical expressions .
* The college requires objectives where critical thinking can best be
measured to be marked with an asterisk.
