Calculator:Usually hand-held, pocket-sized electronic device for performing numerical calculations, organizing data, graphing functions, and/or performing symbolic manipulations. Simpler calculators can perform basic operations including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division. More specialized calculators perform operations with squares, roots, certain trigonometric and statistical functions. They store and sort data lists or programs, and create an assortment of graphs.

Quadratic equation:An equation includes only second degree polynomials. Some examples are `y = 3x^2 ?C 5x^2 + 1`, `x^2 + 5xy + y^2 = 1`, and `1.6a^2 +5.9a ?C 3.14 = 0`.

Probability:the number of ways an event can occur divided by the total number of possible outcomes.product- the answer to a multiplication problem

Negative integer:the opposite of a positive whole number; zero is neither positive or negative.

Rational expression:What is it? The quotient of two polynomials.

Slope intercept:What is it? The equation of a straight line in the form y = mx + b, where m is the slope and b is the y-coordinate of the point where the line intercepts the y-axis.

Class:A synonym for set.

Variable:a letter that stands for a number or range of numbers.

Algebra:arithmetic operations using letters and/or symbols in place of numbers.

Mathematics:A study of relationships among numbers, shapes, and patterns. Mathematics is used to count and measure things, to discover similarities and differences, to solve problems, and to learn about and organize the world.

Quadratic equation:An equation of degree 2, which has at most two solutions.

Algebra:Algebra is a continuation and extension of the rules of arithmetic into a more general level.

Solution:The value(s) of a variable(s) that makes a mathematical sentence (equation) true.

Difference equation:A difference equation is an equation involving the differences between successive values of a function of an integer variable. A difference equation can be regarded as the discrete version of a differential equation.

Rational expression:An expression for a rational number.

Rational equation:An equation which has a rational expression on one or both sides of the equal sign.

Square root:one of the two equal factors of a number.

Algebra:Algebra also deals with symbols, relations, functions, and equations.

Calculator:A machine used for doing mathematical calculations.

Equation:number sentence with =

Polynomial:A Polynomial is a Monomial or a sum or Difference of two or More monomials.

Calculator:a tool used to figure out the answer to a number problem
